Today we found out our baby is a BOY, we couldn't be more excited! Boys are so fun and Mason needs a little brother. The girls are super excited they said yay now maybe Mason will leave us alone :) I love my sweet kids and super excited to have 2/2 :)

Happy Valentines Day!! Over the weekend I had a D/C because I miscarried, I feel really really good but still sad that I miscarried. It's hard no matter how many kids you have or don't have I think you get attached as soon as you see that positive pregnancy test. I am so grateful that I was blessed with such a perfect little spirit that all it needed was a body. I am so grateful for the gospel in my life to have a better understanding and such comfort. I was sad that Dave couldn't be here with me to go through all of this, but my amazing mom and family helped me get through and helped tremendously with the kids. I love my family and Dave's family so much they are such a blessing in my life. We wouldn't be where we are today if it weren't for family. I love my sweet little children and know I will be blessed with more. (in the future I'm taking a break) :)

Today's Thoughts and Feelings

After reading a friend's blog I can't help but be thankful for all that I have. She lost her sweet little girl last August and she shares her thoughts and feelings on her blog and WOW she is a powerful woman and I hope to be as strong as her one day. I am so thankful for my little kids they are absolutely my joy and reason to live! I am so grateful for my husband as well and glad he is such a good man. She talks about not realizing what you have til it's gone and that is so true. With Dave being gone (and this is nothing compared to what she went through) it has been quite an adjustment, I often feel overwhelmed with the responsibility of 3 little kids and knowing I don't get a husband to come home at night and help me, but I am so grateful to know that he will be home soon. (not soon enough) ;) My friend is a strong woman and to sit and write thoughts and feelings every few days would be tough but I'm sure very therapeutic. Life is too short to hold grudges, be jealous, unkind, immature, etc. No one is perfect and I am so grateful for that, we all make mistakes and just hope that others will forgive. She has given me so much strength and slight understanding of what she is going through and I pray for her often. As hard as life seems sometimes it could always be worse. I am so grateful I have an eternal family and and that my friend does too. I hope to be a better person because of her!!

I finally was able to go see Dave again! He has changed so much, He seems more confident, outgoing, positive, outspoken, polite and so much more I can't really explain it. Physically He has changed a lot too He lost a total of 30 lbs. and is very toned :) His graduation was awesome the feeling there was amazing I couldn't have been more proud, yes I am a PROUD ARMY WIFE and always will be!! He is everything to me and I can't wait for what the future holds for us. Mason went with me and wasn't sure of Dave. Mason cried every time Dave held him, it broke my heart. The second day was better Mason would actually let Dave hold him without wanting me immediately. It was fun to have Dave show us around base and what He has been doing for the past 10 weeks. We only got to see Dave Wednesday and Thursday so we spent both of those 2 days with him and then Friday He flew to Arizona and We stayed and did some sight seeing (we as in me and my parents and Mason) Friday we went to Charleston and saw Fort Sumter which is where the Cival War started, it was cool to see that. Saturday We went to a plantation and toured the mansion that was there it was cool. The mansion was built in the 1850's. December 17 Dave will be home so if anyone wants to come see him he will be here til January 2nd :)

EVONNE WAHLIN

Evonne North Wahlin 1930 ~ 2010 Our wonderful, happy, lovely and beautiful, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother, returned to her Father in Heaven November 14, 2010 at the age of 80.Evonne was born August 30, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Linden A. and Zelma Fuller North. She graduated from South High School and attended two years at the University of Utah where she met her husband, Clive, on "Hello Walk". They were married 59 years. She sold Avon for 15 years where she met many wonderful people and to support two of her sons as they served missions for the LDS Church. Later Evonne worked at the Salt Lake Community College Bookstore for 23 years. She loved all those that she worked with and considered them very good friends. She was very artistic and creative, adorning those she loved with the creations she made. Her talents included hand painted porcelain dolls and figurines. She loved to crochet and crocheted a personalized afghan for each of her 20 grandchildren in their favorite colors. She also loved music, it was a big part of her life. She served as a temple worker at the Jordan River Temple for 14 years. Also served faithfully as a music leader in Primary, Mutual, Sunday School, Relief Society, Ward Chorister, Ward Choir Director, Stake Young Women's president, Visiting Teacher and Teacher in the Relief Society. Evonne said her greatest accomplishment was rearing her five children: Mike, Peggy, Brian, Don and David; they always had fun together as a family. She also considered their spouses as her own and greatly loved her 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. They were always such a joy to her. One of the things Evonne is most grateful for is her membership and knowledge of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that has helped guide her throughout her life. We would like to give special thanks to family, friends, neighbors and Hospice for Utah. Funeral services will be held Sat., November 20, 2010, 12:00 noon at the Taylorsville Gardens 2nd Ward, 4253 South Bennion Road (1905 W). Viewings will be held Friday, November 19, 2010, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Estates.

11 more days and I get to see my best friend "my hubby" I can hardly wait! It has been a long 10 weeks without him. I have done good til now, I am soooooo ready to see him I miss him like crazy! They say once it gets "hard" they are home so it must not be hard enough yet. I love Dave so much! December 17 can't come soon enough, but at least I get to go see him in 11 days. I am so excited to have him home for Christmas for a couple weeks, you don't realize what you have til it's gone! I have a whole new respect for Dave and the time we get together! I love you hunny!

A David Update!

I have been horrible about updating you all on David. So he has been gone for 5 weeks now (but who's counting) He loves what He is doing and Basic Training is totally NOT anything he expected, He thought it was going to be way worse than it is just cause of things people have told him, WRONG! He says it's a lot like scout camp. He has done a lot of rifle training and loves that the most, he learned how to use his M16 He thinks it is pretty cool, He has done combative training which is where you learn how to pretty much wrestle somebody correctly. He says the food isn't too bad considering he is very very picky, He has gone to church every Sunday and says He really has enjoyed that. His 3rd week in He had to do an overnight training and I guess He got attacked by some fire ants and said His legs were all "jacked up" but he said he was fine. His battle buddy is really cool he likes him a lot, He has a wife and kids so him and Dave have a lot in common and He is from Utah. Dave likes it in South Carolina, He can run better I guess! He said Basic isn't the yelling and swearing and spitting in your face like everyone thinks it is, He says it is cool! Dave loves his drill sergeants they have been awesome and a great help to him. Dave has passed all the required tests to graduate and I am really proud of him. The tests include first aid, rifle shooting, combatives, M16 taking apart and putting back together in a certain amount of time and His physical. So that is what I know so far 5 weeks to go and I can't wait to see him, I love Dave soooooooooo much!!!!

So today I quit nursing Mason, I feel like He is getting way to old and He only nurses to go to sleep so pretty much I am a pacifier for Him, so we... well I decided it was time to be done. I don't know how people can stand to nurse their kids for years I would go crazy, I want to wear a normal bra and normal g's!! Mason also gets to go into nursery next month and I don't want him to be attached to me that way. He has had a long hard day full of tears, but the first 24 hours are always this hard and then it is all down hill from here. Brooklyn only took about 2 full miserable days and then was fine so I hope the same for Mason.

My two boys, I can't believe David will be gone in 2 months ahh what am I going to do? I love Dave so much I am willing to sacrifice, He is getting excited to go which helps me feel better. He will do great! I never in a million years thought I would be sending my husband away, it's ok though it's not forever 7 months will fly. I have a very supportive family and ward and good friends who I am so grateful for. The thing I think most about is not having him here to talk to at the end of the day when the kids have gone to bed I think that is when I will feel the loneliest. Dave will be gone for My bday, Brooklyn's bday, Ryland's bday, Halloween, Our Anniversary, Thanksgiving, Valentines, Mason's bday, His bday and Easter. We will have to take lots of pictures for him.

Today the kids and I went to Camp Williams to visit Dave, he is there this weekend for his drill. It was a family meeting that we got to go to, the kids had a lot of fun and they treat us so nice, and Daves sergeant told me how well David is doing and how they enjoy having him. The kids ran all over the place and couldn't get enough. Mason loved the big trucks and the tanks he kept saying ooooooh. He is such a boy! Of course they loaded the kids up with treats and they thought that was cool. Ryland said "Mom I like the National Guard." I am excited for all the future holds for us!

1st Drill!! And other stuff!!

Well Dave successfully survived his first drill weekend and is excited and ready for the next one in May. I am proud of Him for the sacrifices he is willing to make for our family. He hurt his knee during one of the drills but it wasn't bad, so can't complain for the first time. He said it went better than he expected but don't we always expect the worst? I am grateful for all the people in our lives who are willing to accept and support OUR decision. The kids missed Dave a lot but mostly at bedtime, I think that will be the hardest thing when he is gone is when they ask when Daddy will be home and where he is at because they don't understand exactly what he is doing. I just want September to get here quick so we can get things going and get Daddy home. I have friends who say it is harder for them when their husbands come home because they get into such a routine and when Dad comes home it screws things up so I hope I feel that someday!! Anyway Ryland is almost done with Kindergarten and she totally loves it. She is reading and her handwriting is so good. She loves to play outside and be independent. Ryland loves her bike and loves to go to Grandma Wahlin's house and play with friends. Brooklyn is almost done with her 1st year of dance and has learned a lot. She just had a recital and got a trophy and is very proud of her trophy. She also loves to play outside and ride her bike. Brooklyn is very smart and always has been she love to learn new things. Mason is 1 now and full of energy I don't know where he gets it from, he is so different than my girls were at that age but is so fun to watch and he is learning so much from his sisters and tries to do everything they do. Mason is a smart boy and fun to watch. Oh he loves the vacuum I don't know why but he does, he will just go sit by it and stare at it, it's like it is his best friend! I am currently in young womens (beehive adviser) and it has been fun, it seems like just yesterday I was a beehive. I enjoy taking the kids out for walks and I love going to my mom's house and hang out with her in the evenings when Dave goes to work, it is my escape! I am so happy being a Mom and love my kids so much they are my joy. I love dave and thankful to him that I can stay home with our kids.

Today Dave and I had the opportunity to go and see our good friends get sealed in the Temple with their 3 little kids. There is nothing sweeter than knowing the kids you are raising are yours forever. I am so proud of our friends for making this a goal. Dave and I had the opportunity of going to the temple with Ryland when she was 1 and were sealed, and I will never forget that day it was so sweet and the spirit was so strong. Ryland was so cute, and was so good. I am thankful for my forever family.

My Husband is officially a Soldier!

David joined the Utah National Guard today and I am really proud of Him. It has been a long hard stressful decision but everything fell into place and worked out very smooth, that is enough to tell me that our decision was the right one. He leaves for Basic Training in the Fall September 20 and it is 10 weeks long. He will be doing his training in South Carolina, Fort Jackson to be exact. He will do awesome and I am really proud of David, I love that my children get to grow up in the "military" life and explore that. David is only doing the reserves so he will still be working at Hudson. I am thankful for my sweet little family and know we will be blessed.

WHEN RYLAND SAT ON SANTA'S LAP LAST NIGHT SHE TOLD HIM THAT SHE WANTED A LADYBUG CROWN. THAT WAS NEVER MENTIONED ON HER CHRISTMAS LIST AND SANTA IS DONE SHOPPING, SO I HOPE SHE IS NOT TO DISAPPOINTED ON CHRISTMAS. PLUS WHAT IS A LADYBUG CROWN ANYWAY?
RYLAND HELD UP THE LETTER " A " AND SAID, "A" STAND FOR APPLES SO ROSY AND RED. SHE HAD IT ALL MEMORIZED AND DIDN'T NEED AND HELP!
LAST NIGHT RYLAND HAD HER PRESCHOOL PROGRAM AND DID SUCH A GOOD JOB SINGING AND SAYING HER PART. SHE HAS DONE SO WELL IN PRESCHOOL THIS YEAR, SHE LOVES HER CLASS AND HER TEACHERS. SHE HAS LEARNED SO MUCH THIS YEAR AND LOVES TO LEARN. WE ARE SO HAPPY THAT SHE LIKES SCHOOL SO MUCH MAYBE THAT GIVES US HOPE FOR THE YEARS TO COME.
